Before
Uncontrolled weeds and dead shrubs were taken for green waste recycling
and asbestos was contractually removed by a licensed company. The felling
of a burnt out and rotting Acacia tree was handled by ‘Prestigious
Trees’.
We landscaped the garden into 2 main sections: a raised
sleeper lawn and bark mulched play area with a side bed for planting
which will be underway this autumn. The tree is yet to be hacked up,
and we hope that the rear of the garden will be landscaped in the
future with a further platform to enjoy the evening sun from, but
otherwise remain a wildlife haven.
The fence line on the left will
be dressed with willow matting until the proposed deep rooted hedge
line plants suggested to combat further Japanese knotweed invasion
has become established.
Planting will be woodland inspired, with a
harmony of upright perennials, ground cover plants, bulbs and shrubs.
Salad, easy vegetable and annuals are proposed to be planted with
the family in the raised bed and by Hannah’ window and composting
will be encouraged! An easy to maintain and play in area – project
ongoing.
