Project Back garden

Client Vickie
Address Forest Hill, London
Date February 2010
With thanks to Mark, Chris and Alex.

Before

Vickie had a lot of water sitting close to the back of the house. The Damp Proof course was breeched by previous owners paving and most of the planting was not what she would have chosen. The fence and shed had some restoration and wood treatment, 2 new patios and adjoining step stone path, flower beds and lawn were installed. We recycled as much material from the site during works as possible and fantastic neighbours allowed us access through their garden to make the project possible.

The theme was Modern English meets Morocco/Japanese/India inspired. I think this came thorough with the sense of harmony in the gentle curves applied and planting. Photinia remained where she was, Bamboos and other perennials were divided and placed in amongst generous hew perennial tender and evergreen planting. Soil was boosted with new organic compost and feed. Watering has been consistent since by Vickie and the lawn and plants are settling in well. A few ends to tie up here and naturally ongoing maintenance is available as well as verbal support. Pictures to come of the summer explosions when the perennials burst into bloom!

Helleborus argutifolius,
